Dear Malcs Members,
On behalf of Chicana/Latina Studies: The Journal of Mujeres Activas en Letras y Cambio Social, we are pleased to announce our launch of PeerTrack, an online manuscript managing system developed by Aries Systems and used by over 2300 journals. As of May 8, all scholarly articles to Chicana/Latina Studies are to be submitted through PeerTrack. As authors you will be able to submit original and revised manuscripts, receive reviewers’ feedback in a timely manner, and track correspondence from the Editors. For members of our National Advisory Board, Editorial Board, and select reviewers, you will now be able to submit your reviews online, as they continue to be vetted through our editorial staff. From the vantage point of editorial personnel, the advantages of our new managing system include data entry, data retrieval, correspondence, reporting, workflow control, manuscript file management, and database access from office, lab, home, or the road—all features that allow Chicana/Latina Studies to better serve our MALCS community and to remain on par with our counterpart scholarly journals. Integrating PeerTrack into the operations of Chicana/Latina Studies will also result in facilitating transitions between campuses, as the journal moves to new homes.
Please continue to send creative writing submissions directly to Eliza Rodriguez y Gibson at erodri37@lmu.edu and book review essays to Linda Heidenreich at lheidenr@wsu.edu.
You may access the new site at: http://www.edmgr.com/malcs
When you are ready to submit a scholarly article, please click “Login” and enter a username and password. Press the Return key or click the button for the role you are most likely to use: author. The system will then prompt you to the process at hand. Please make sure your contact information is up to date and revise it accordingly, as changes occur. Please contact support@peertrack.net should you have any questions.
Meanwhile, as we learn to use this new system, we ask for your patience in advance. Please contact us directly if you have any questions or encounter problems. Click ‘contact us’ in the main navigation bar of PeerTrack.
Sincerely,
Gloria Cuádraz and C. Alejandra Elenes
